June 6, 1944: The largest World War II Allied operation began in Normandy, France, making this region the most important location in the world at the time.  Discover in breathtaking IMAX 3D how this landing changed the world.  Exploring history, military strategy, science, technology and human values, this film will educate and appeal to all.  Narrated by Tom Brokaw, this film pays tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom.

The 1968 Exhibit takes us through one of the most pivotal years of the 20 th century – a year filled with significant historical events from revolutionary film, television and music to groundbreaking images of earth taken from the Apollo 8 space capsule.  The social forces that swirled through the turbulent 1960s crested in 1968, a turning point for a generation coming of age and a nation at war.   Hair opened on Broadway, Laugh-In debuted on TV and The Graduate won an Oscar.  New visions of art and music appeared defining the culture of the 1960,s and these visions paved the way for the emergence of When Austin Got Weird.

Lunch will be on your own at The Story of Texas Cafe for an assortment of soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts and drinks.

Ticket cost includes transportation, IMAX movie and exhibit fees.
