Indoor Pool Remodel - Breaking News!

The indoor lap pool at Texas Drive will be closed.  May 31 – June 30

The tile deck will be replaced the pool water will be drained and replaced and the ceiling will receive a fresh coat of paint. Please be patient with us as we work to improve your fitness center.  We appreciate your cooperation and support!


Outdoor Pool Turf Renovation at Texas Drive Fitness

Along with the interior enhancements of the Texas Drive Fitness Center the outdoor pool area will receive new turf in the next 30 days.  The contractor will apply Round Up to the old Bermuda grass so you will notice the areas turn brown.  Then the new sod will be installed and we will set irrigation to grow in the root system for about 12 days.  All work will be started early in the morning before the pool gets busy.  Thank you for your patience during this project and we will keep you updated.


Did you participate in a Beginner Pilates or Beginner Zumba Series last month?

If you took a beginner series last month, it may be time to graduate!  You now have the foundation you need to try another class and continue your zumba and pilates education and practice.  The same great benefits you say in your beginner class, just get better as you continue through a fitness program.  This week, try

Nutritional tips from the Trainer.
If you overindulge one day, get right back on track.  Don't use one over-indulgence episode as an excuse to keep repeating the blunder throughout the day or extend it into the next day.  The next hour is always a new start.  Record when you go off the deep end as far as eating habits.  Jot down any emotional factors or situations.  You may discover that there is a pattern.  And we all know that knowledge is power.

30 Minute Cardio Series

This 45 minute class will include a warm-up, aerobic exercises, abdominal exercises and stretching.  The class will take place in the Texas Drive aerobics studio and utilizing the outdoor walking trail.  Classes led by Donna Duffy.

45 Minute Cardio Aqua Series
Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30-4:15 p.m.

4 week, 8 session series runs 6/5-6/28 for only $25
Low impact water aerobics to improve physical fitness and cardiovascular health.  Series taught by Beth White.

Coached Lap Swim Series
Monday and Wednesday, 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

8 classes for only $25.  June 4-27
This 45 minute class will include a swimming technique and lap swimming for improved fitness and cardiovascular health.  Classes led by Donna Duffy.

Chair Pilates Series
Fridays, 1-1:50 p.m.

If you have avoided Pilates because you are not comfortable getting on and off the ground, we have the perfect solution for you!  Try our new chair Pilates class series.  In chair Pilates you will work on your abdominals, back, shoulders, hips, and all the core muscle strength that will help you improve posture and balance.  Your flexibility will improve too!  Series led by Megan Regnier.

Kickboxing & Core Series
Tuesday and Thursday, 4:45-5:30 p.m.

A 45 minute class which combines 30 minutes of low impact kickboxing with 15 minutes of core work and stretching.  Series taught by Beth White.

Stability Ball
Fridays, 2:00-2:45 p.m.

5 classes for only $25
A strength, balance and flexibility workout using the stability ball.  Class led by Ki Browning.

Strength Express Series
Monday and Wednesday, 4:45-5:30 p.m.

4 week series runs June 4-27
8 classes for only $25
Come build and tone your muscles in this 45 minute, full body strength class.  Series taught by Ki Browning.  

Total Body Conditioning Series
Tuesday and Friday 12:30–1:30 p.m.
Texas Drive Weight Room/Group Fitness Room
4 week, 8 session series runs 6/5-5/29 for only $55

Cowan Creek Weight Room/Group Fitness Room

This small group weight room series is a cardiovascular and weight training class.  Class led by Ki Browning uses cardio machines, strength training and flexibility.
*Participants should be able to stand for an hour and get on and off the ground.

Water Walking Series
Tuesday and Thursday, 1:45-2:30 p.m.
Texas Drive Fitness Center
8 classes for only $25.  June 5-28
Get moving with a low impact, joint friendly walk in the water that will help improve joint mobility and cardiovascular fitness.  Classes led by instructor Nancy Dossing and Pat Perry.

Yoga for Core Strength Series
Wednesdays, 1-1:50 p.m.
Texas Drive Fitness Center
3 classes for only $15, June 13-27
Increase your core strength with this yoga class series.  Poses will be focused on building strength and alignment within the trunk of the body.  Series taught by Anna Easterling.
