Orientation to Stained Glass

This class is required before new members can join the Stained Glass Club. Watch Sun Rays and the schedule page on this web site for class announcements. Registration is at the stained glass studio on a first come, first serve basis with a $30 payment. Waiting list is compiled after class is filled for that class only. 

In this class, you will learn to use the basic tools and techniques for this craft including:

  • Pattern cutting
  • Transfer of pattern to glass
  • Glass cutting techniques
  • Foiling and soldering techniques
  • Zine came framing
  • Methods of hanging and finishing the panel

Equipment for this class will be provided; however, you will be responsible for purchasing glass for you class project.

Other Basic Training

Monitoring Class

All members of the club are expected to be a room monitor once every two months. This class is required prior to assuming your monitor duties. In this class, you will require the monitoring responsibilities and information available to you. No equipment is required. Handout on monitoring process will be provided to you.

Glass Saw Orientation

This class is required before any member can use the glass saw. The glass saw is frequently used to cut more intricate patterns. This class will teach you how to use the saw safely. No equipment or materials are required.
