Quicken Advanced
Two, 2-hour classes
Fee: $10
Prerequisites:
All of the following (or
equivalent experience
):
-
Computer Intro (or Intro to Personal Computers 101 and 102)
-
Windows 1 (or Windows 101)
-
Windows 2 (or Windows 102 Files and Folders)
-
Quicken Basic (or one or more years experience using Quicken)
Course Description:
If you
already use Quicken, but would like to learn about some advanced topics, this class is for
you. The class will be conducted in “demo mode” so it will be appropriate for both Mac &
PC users. The only prerequisite is that you already use Quicken. Emphasis will be on
what you can do with Quicken rather than
how to do it.
Session one will
begin with “
Asset Allocation”. Financial experts claim that proper asset allocation is the most
important decision you can make about your investments. Assessing your risk profile and
determining an appropriate asset allocation model will be demonstrated. Using the internet to
pick appropriate funds and portfolio rebalancing will also be demonstrated.
Depending upon
class interest and available time, subsequent sessions will cover
retirement planning, finding
tax deductions, budgeting, reporting, or other topics.
