Windows 7 Email Options

Windows 7 installed on the home computer
Course Description:
This course should not be taken until the student has completed Understanding
Windows 7 AND Computer Intro. Designed as one of three course offerings, this course explains
the use of email options available in Windows 7, which no longer provides an email client such
as Outlook Express and Windows Mail found in XP and Vista operating systems. This class introduces
you to both Windows Live and Windows Live Mail,each of several options developed expressly for
Windows 7. The course is designed for new computer users who have recently purchased a new
computer equipped with the Windows 7 operating system or the experienced user who has recently
upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista or XP. Students who are running the Vista operating system
can also avail themselves of these options instead of using the current Vista mail client, Windows
Mail.
Performance Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

Set up an Windows Live ID and password to avail yourselves of the applications which
have been developed for Windows 7 as a free download.

You will explore the Windows Live site and familiarize yourselves with the
applications which are offered to you as a Windows Live user.

You will also learn how to setup a Gmail account for web-based access to email while
you are away from your computer or while you are traveling;

You will also learn how to set up a new Windows Live Mail account without changing
your email address to replace Outlook Express, the Windows XP email client which will no longer be
supported by Microsoft in the very near future.

The benefits and advantages of Windows Live and Windows Live Mail will be presented
to you for your evaluation and use.
