Prerequisites:  Computer Intro XP, Vista or Win 7

Course Description:  When Microsoft introduced its newest operating system, Windows 7, it also introduced a revised menu bar called the RIBBON.  For computer users used to XP and the menu bar, the change was very difficult to grasp and understand.  Suddenly, commands that were easy to find and easy to execute became harder to find and harder to understand.  This course is an overview of the RIBBON and how it is used in Windows Live Mail 2011, MS Word 2007 and 2010, MS Power Point 2007 and 2010, MS Excel 2007 and 2010.  It is designed for beginning and experienced computer users.

Course Objectives:  At the end of this class, you will be able to:

locate common commands formerly located on the menu bar of XP

move the location and the size of the quick action tool bar and the RIBBON

modify the commands on the quick action tool bar

use the RIBBON functions to execute commands

understand the logic and design of the RIBBON for ease of use
