Computer Intro - Windows 7

NOTE: Instruction for all users of VISTA are now contained in the Windows 7
classes. If you currently use Vista, then enroll in any and all of the Windows 7
classes.
Three, 2-hour sessions
Fee: $15
Prerequisites: None.
This class does not require membership in the Computer Club.
Description. This class is designed for beginning users or new owners of a
personal computer using Windows 7 OR Vista operating system (any version). It defines basic
computer terminology, names and describes the essential components of a computer system, and offers
instruction and practice in using the keyboard and mouse.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Start and shut down a personal computer

Recognize and understand basic computer terminology relating to a typical personal
computer system

Know the function of personal computer hardware components

Use the mouse to select items, open and close windows, and modify windows
-
Use a keyboard to enter and manipulate text in a document
-
Name and describe the principal types of software used in a home or small office
computer
-
Access and examine a web page
