Windows 7 Libraries, Files and Folders

Prerequisites: Computer Intro Windows 7
Understanding Windows 7
OR
Computer Intro XP or Vista
Windows XP 1 or Windows Vista 1
OR
equivalent experience
Course Description: This class is designed for the computer user who has
recently upgraded from XP or Vista to Windows 7 and is used to creating both files and folders on
the computer. While many of the techniques are the same as in XP and Vista, the organization
and recall of the files and folders is now contained in libraries. The search for files and
folders has changed, and moving and copying files and folders is very different in Windows 7.
If you already have some computer knowledge and want to learn the library, folder, file system of
Windows 7, this course is designed for you. If you are a new computer user who has just purchased a
Windows 7 operating system, this course is designed to teach you how to create files and folders
and organize them in libraries for simple and easy recall.
Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this course, the student will be
able to:

create a file in wordpad, notepad, or MS Word
-
create a folder on the desktop and on the C: drive
-
move files into folders
-
retrieve files and/or folders using the search tool
-
understand and create a hierarchy of libraries
-
move data from the C: drive to a CD
-
move data from the C: drive to a flash drive
-
use the burn process on Windows 7
-
use the Send to process from the folder or the desktop
-
organize folders into types of files: Excel, Word, photos, videos, music
-
use the Windows Explorer function
