Description: This course is designed for the beginning computer user who has
completed the Computer Intro Win 7 class OR who feels comfortable with computer language and
operations of the mouse, monitor, CPU, and keyboard.
If you are an experienced computer user of XP or Vista and you have
just upgraded to Windows 7, please enroll in Understanding Windows 7, Win 7 Email Options, or
Win 7 Internet Browsers.
Required Prerequisites: Computer Intro XP or Vista or Windows 7 OR
equivalent
experience.
This course will teach the beginning computer user to navigate the Windows 7
functions and teach you how to accomplish the following operations:
Managing and Changing the Desktop configuration and wallpaper;
Finding and searching for files, folders, and applications in the Windows;
Using the Control Panel to manage software, hardware, peripherals, and the Windows 7
operating system;
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to recognize and use the
following functions of the Windows 7 operating system:

the Start Button

the Desktop and its wallpaper, icons, taskbar, shortcuts, shutdown

the use of active and inactive windows: maximize, minimize, restore, close, scroll
bars, moving, arranging and manipulating windows, snap options for windows, and shake options for
windows

creating and naming files and folders, copying data between files, creating
shortcuts for files, and moving, copying and deleting files to folders
-
the Control Panel and its components for management of your computer
