Description: A home network can be configured to support both wired and wireless
computers, printers and peripherals. Come to this class to learn how to set up your home
network, secure your network from intrusion outside the walls of your home, and expand the network
to accommodate more than one home computer. You can install your own network, and you
can go to the computer supply store to purchase the correct equipment and both will be easier once
you attend this class.
Objectives & Course Summary: Upon completion of this course, you will be
able to:

Understand the function of network and wireless equipment

Use the language of network and wireless standards

Install a home network for one or more computers using the prompt
screens

Understand how to purchase the equipment to network one or more computers

Understand how to set up a wireless network in your home

Understand how to secure both a wired and wireless network with passwords
