Menu Tools > Options (1 - 7 below)Tools>Configure Buttons (8 below) Most of these you will never notice. Any selection not mentioned should be left as default But when Picasa does not behave as you expect, check Tools>Option settings |

1. General |
Important: Detect duplicates while importing - check Delete from disk without conformation don?t check Remove from Album without conformation- don?t check Optional: Show Tool Tips - See hints when hovering cursor over icon Single click to exit editing eliminates back to library click Save imported pictures in MyPictures Best but choose your own default folder |

2. EMail |
Email Programs - your choice (If you use a web based emaiol provider you might want to add a gmail account for Picasa) Size for multiple pictures change if pictures sent through Picasa are too large or too small for any reason Size for single picture - Use same as multiple ( set with slider) UNLESS you want to sent full size photo then change option button selection Movies Check default on your Picasa and set option button desired Send full movie as wmv file or only first frame as jpg. Change as needed |

3. File Types |
jpg is automatic Check bmp and gif if desired Check Movies and Quicktime movies. If Picasa is not picking up some photo, slide show or movie, determine its extension |

4. Slide Show |
Music ?. Music will play on the computer but may not be included on Gift CD. When checked, Browse for soundtrack will be available |

5. Printing |
Available Print sizes controls which selections you may make (show on screen) at print time. Change as needed Below the line select settings for preview and print quality probably defaults OK |

6. Web Albums |
Upload size defaults to 1600 pixels. If any other option is chosen from the drop down box, the grayed out selections will become active New Album visibility ? select the option you use most often Public, link, private Sync pictures from PIcasa stored in web albums are automatically edited when the original is edited in Picasa. Choose which pictures to automatically sync Watermark add text to a photo. If selected you add desired watermark in text box |

7. Name Tags |
Face Detection -Enable(check) or disable (uncheck) face detection. A plus for searching - a minus for time Suggestions: Set percent of accuracy in Picasa?s detection capability in matching new faces to Name tags |
