Picasa and GMail Connection: Picasa is a
free photo editing and photo sharing program. GMail is a
free web based email program. Both developed by Google. Picasa Features Email Connection: Automatic resizing by PIcasa of your edited photos for emailing. Internet Connection: Automatic uploads from Picasa to a web space (Google provided) Your web space needs an email address

From Picasa: Email Settings Check Tools, Options, Email to make
sure the defaults you want are set (the right default email program, the
resize size, sending full movies vs. only sending first frame) Email photos using GMail (or any email provider) Select photos for email (collect in
photo tray. Select GMail. Photos are automatically resized and
inserted as attachments into a message.
Delete any unwanted text and
substitute your message. Send. |

Setting up a GMail
account: (There are other ways to get to this web site) 1. Click Picasa Email button 2. Click Get
a free account 3. Right
hand column Click Create an Account 4. Enter
First Name, Last Name, Login Name and check availability (to see that your
chosen log in name is not already in use) 5. Enter and
reenter password 6. Uncheck
next three items ( Stay signed in, Allow web
history, and Set Google as home page) if not wanted. 7. Choose or
provide a secret question and answer for security purposes to recover your
password 8. Enter a
second email address. 9. Enter
your birthday 10. Try to
type in the correct captcha, the squiqqly letters required by Google to prevent a computer from
generating many accounts. If you miss
the first one,
they will give you another. (This is
common for other accounts also and there is an audio version when the visual
version is too hard to discern. Click
the wheelchair) 11. Click the
button accepting their terms and you will receive a confirmation from GMail. Customizing GMail Import a contact list Go to Settings>Forwarding and
enter the address you prefer to use. Select an option to leave messages in
Gmail Inbox or to delele
messages when forwarded. Save your changes. |
