The Projects Collection 1 - Collage

Goal: Show how to use a collage for

a) Making album title slides b) framing a photo c)Faking a matted photo

Collage Tools:

1.       Choose Style

a.      Picture Pile

b.      Mosaic

c.       Frame

d.      Grid

e.      Contact Sheet

f.        Multiple exposure (probably not)

2.       Choose a border

a.      None

b.      Plain white

c.       Special

3.       Background Options

a.      Solid (Choose color)

b.        Use Image

 

4.       Choose size from drop down box

5.       Choose Orientation

6.       Check to choose shadow behind photo

7.       Check to show captions

8.       Use Clips Tab at the to add selected pictures to collage (green plus sign)

9.       Use Clips Tab to remove photos from the Collage tray(red minus sign)

10.   Use Remove tab to remove photo from collage and return to Clips

11.   Click Create to finalize collage

Close will give choice of saving a draft or discarding the collage.

Simple one step Collage - Using Collage for album title slides

  1. Select one or several slides from the album section the title slide will introduce
  2. Click Collage
  3. Arrange photos on collage or choose a style or set one photo as background
  4. Select Create collage
  5. Add text in empty spaces on collage as a title section
  6. Move collage from Project collection into folder or add to album

 

One step collage - Frame your photo

1.       Select one photo and crop to size (proportional dimensions) of your finished product

2.       Click collage

3.       Select the Grid style. Slide the Grid Spacing slider to desired size. Choose background color.

4.       Choose your background color ( Can match color to some color in your photo by using the eye dropper or color picker)

5.       Choose collage size same size as photo

6.       Click Create Collage when done.

7.       Collage will be in the Projects collection in the folder Colleges.

8.        This collage is now a photo and can be used in any way you would use a regular file print, album, email, etc.

Two step Collage matting a framed photo

  1. Make a collage from one photo using a narrow edge of the background showing.
  2. Using the finished collage, repeat the process, choosing a different background color and showing a larger edge.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Select one photo for a collage. Select photo and Click Use as Background. Select your photo and Click Remove to return to Clips. Add other photos if desired. Create your collage.
  • Select any one photo and click to make a collage. Select Picture Pile. Drag your photo off the collage to make a blank slide. Select a background color for your slide. Finish collage and add text for a title slide
  • Use icons to orient your collage as landscape or portrait.
  • Select Photos and click Collage. Use color wheel to choose a color or hover the color picker for the background color over a color in a photo to match the background of the collage to the photo.
