Sharing your Photos Part 1
Making a Gift CD
|
|
What is a Gift CD?
- Picasa provides for you to gather together
photos for a presentation slide show on a CD.
- The CD will keep related photos grouped in
folders.
- File names and captions will appear on each slide. The CD is suitable for playing on
another computer.
- The CD will contain the photos for the slide
show and Picasa's program for running the slide show automatically.
- Optionally, you may add the original photos
and a copy of the Picasa installation program.
- Music can be added to the slide show to play
on your computer but Picasa does not include the music on the Gift CD
|
|
When to use:
Create a gift CD when you have many photos and printing them will be
costly. Consider a CD to replace a
book album or to accompany a professionally made album of your best photos.
|
|
Preparations:
- Prepare your photos. Edit them. Add
captions. Rename them.
- Group related photos in the same folder. Arrange them in the desired order
within each folder by dragging and dropping into place within the
folder.
- Play a slide show of each folder to preview the
sequence of photos that will be saved to the CD.
- To change the order of the photos, drag and
drop into new position.
Using Picasa 2
- Use Paint to create a slide as a sub heading
when the location of a group of slides change. Example: On a trip
to Colorado, create a slide which introduces Pike's Peak, another for
Garden of Gods, another for Air Force Academy.
Using Picasa 3
- Create transition slides or a lead-in title
slide for similar groups of photos as above using Picasa3's collage
feature.
- Use Picas 3's text on photo options. Use the eye dropper or colorpicker to
match the color of the text to a prominent item in the photo.
