Cropping Clues for Perfect Prints

 

Why Crop?

  1. Crop to make a more pleasing picture.
  2. Crop to match a photo size to a photo paper size (proportionally)

  


How to crop:

  1. Choices for cropping sizes are 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 8 x 10 and Manual (Picasa2)
  2. Cropping buttons are Rotate, Preview, Reset, Apply, Cancel
  3. Select Manual.

a.      With cursor at upper right of desired area, drag cursor to lower left, highlighting the final cropped area. Approximate the shape of the desired finished size.

b.     Cropped area may be increased or decreased along any edge. Drag double pointed arrow on that edge of the cropped area.

c.      Cropped area may be moved. Drag four-points arrow in interior of cropped area in any direction.

  1. Finally, select the option button matching your paper size.
  2. Adjust or rotate the cropped area if needed. Click Apply.

 


How to print:

  1. Show all photos for printing in the photo tray
  2. Click Print.
  3. Settings needed for printing. Check all of these before printing.

a.      Print Layout - size of printed photo.

b.     Crop or Shink to fit button.

c.      Printer - select correct printer

d.     Printer Setup�paper type and size

e.      Number of copies of each photo

  1. Click Review, then Print or Cancel
  2. Hints:

a.      Select Wallet, 3 x 5, 4 x 6 , 5 x 7, 8 x 10, or full page.

b.     Use crop to fit when photo size proportionally matches paper size.

c.      Use Shrink to fit when photo size is not proportional to paper size. If complete photo is not visible on preview, use this button.

d.     Use Printer set up to select the paper size and type of paper used. More than one photo will print on a page if photo size is smaller than paper size and computer determines more than one photo will fit.

e.      Use number of copies to print a specified number of copies of each photo.

f.        Preview all pages if needed�especially if you will be ordering prints.

g.     Review button will indicate pictures of low quality which may not print clearly.

h.     Select Print to print or Cancel to return to the library to order prints.
