The Macintosh Special Interest Group of the Sun City TX Computer
Club
The Macintosh SIG is the gathering place for Sun City TX Computer Club members who
are Mac users, as well as all Club members who are interested learning more about the Macintosh
operating system and using it effectively. The SIG serves as a sounding board for Mac-related
services and programs of the Club.
Macintosh users in the Sun City TX Computer Club are members of the Macintosh SIG
and should be notified of meetings by e-mail as long as they are identified as Mac users and a
correct e-mail address is on file. All members of the Club, Mac users or not, are welcome!
Notes from Mac SIG meetings
and other sources are published here for reference. The older notes in this archive are likely
to be out of date.
Mac High Tea
|
Mac Users Group (MUG) |
Meets on the first Wednesday of the month in CyberCenter Meeting Room, 3:00-4:30 pm. Next
meeting is Wednesday, October 6, 2008.
Details on
the next meeting are posted a few days in advance; and agendas for past meetings are found
here, too.
A forum for exchange of information and experience on the operating system, hardware, and
applications for Apple Macintosh computers. The programs of this SIG are intended for more advanced
Mac users and those who have taken the beginning Mac classes offered by the Club. However,
the programs usually include material understandable to Mac users at all levels.
The general format of the Mac Hi Tea is modeled after the Windows Kaffee Klatch SIG
that John and Shirley Polich have been hosting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
- Tea and crumpets, starting at about 2:45 pm<
- introductions of new Mac users and new attendees
- (the tea is really decaf coffee, and crumpets are ad lib by the attendees)
- one or two short topics to be discussed or presented, usually including recent news about the
Mac and its applications<
- Q & A: come with your questions, Mac problems, things you would like to know more
about.

Meets on the third Wednesday of the month in CyberCenter Meeting Room, 3:00-4:30
pm.
A forum for exchange of information and experience on the Mac operating system and features
for persons who are at a beginning to intermediate user level. This SIG provides a follow-on
discussion group for persons who have taken the beginning Mac classes offered by the Club. However,
anyone with a Mac interest is welcome.
Format for the MUG is a brief presentation and/or demonstration on a topic of interest,
followed by a Q&A session. Meetings are managed so that the Q&A session gets the majority
of the time.
Anyone wanting to volunteer to add a brief "something" to our meeting--give Joan Keith or Jan
Franklin a call and we'll set it up--just as long as it does not interfere with our time allotment
for the Q&A information exchange. Do your Mac a favor and come join us!
For information, contact
Joan
Keith , 869-8868 or Jan Franklin, 864-0074.
