BelArc Advisor is a utility program that analyses and updates the profile of your computer. It is a free download from
It indicates the level of security of your computer and provides the following very necessary information:
Computer Profile Summary computer name, date profile was done, version of BelArc and the Windows logon name used to access your computer.
Operating System 98, Me, XP, or Vista.
System Model manufacturer, chassis serial number, type of machine (laptop or desktop) (If Dell, the system service tag).
Processor type of processor and amount of memory of the computer.
Main Circuit Board what type, who built it, clock speed and type of BIOS.
Computer Drives size of drive, types of drive, how much space used, how much free space.
Memory how much memory is installed.
Printers which printer or printers are installed.
Controllers which type of controller is installed.
USB Ports how many are on the computer.
Monitor type of monitor and size of display.
Other Installed Devices mouse, keyboard, AC adapter.
Communications Devices type of modem and Ethernet controller.
Virus Protection which anti virus program is installed.
Windows Security and other Hot Fixes which ones have been downloaded onto your computer.
Type of Media Player what is installed on your computer
MOST IMPORTANTLY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR COMPUTER:
Software versions of all software installed on your computer.
Software license numbers and product keys of all software on the computer.
These versions, license numbers and product keys are needed for reinstallation if there is a need to format and/or reinstall any software. If you should ever need to call a mentor or for technical assistance this information will be very helpful.
You should get into the habit of running the BelArc advisor after updating or adding software to your computer. Print out a copy. It is best to print the copy in the landscape mode to get all the information on the same page.
